January is a huge month for trade shows. Two biggies coming up for the athletic and outdoor set are Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, Jan 22-25 and the PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 22-24. Being the athletic and outdoor hub that it is, Portland will be well represented at these events. Hopefully these events will inspire more outdoor sports and fun for all in 2014.
At OR Winter Market 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT expect to see all of the Portland big name outdoor brands such as Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Keen, Nau, icebreaker and Hi-Tec amongst the 21, 000 + expected. Smaller niche brands such as NW Alpine and WILD Outdoor Apparel will also have a presence there to show off their newest products.
NW Alpine is introducing a new version of the Eyebright Jacket, the lightest, breathable/waterproof shell on the market made with Dyneema fabric. They also have a new insulated pullover hoody which is sure to be a hit with climbers.
WILD Outdoor Apparel will be introducing its first Made in Oregon jacket. The limited edition Burnside Alpha jacket which will be begin funding on Crowd Supply the end of January.
Over in sunny Orlando, FL, the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show will be in full swing. Over 41,000 attendees from around the globe will be there to check out the latest apparel, equipment, accessories and services for the golf industry.
Portland area companies on site include Jones Sports Co and Seamus Golf. Jones will be showing off some new twists on their iconic single strap carry bags as well as some limited edition bags, while Seamus Golf is sure to have some surprises up their sleeve.
